Easter in Paris!

I recently went to Paris with my sweet friend for Easter. We took the bus from cold and rainy Brussels hoping that Paris would be warm and sunny, thank God it was! The bus we took arrived almost 2 hours late, due to an accident on the highway in Amsterdam where the bus was coming from.

We got on the bus at 5pm and arrived in Paris just after 8pm. The road to Paris itself didn't offer us much to see except a few houses and trees but as soon as we arrived in Paris, it was magical. We had some trouble trying to find the metro which would take us to our hotel because the metro stations there are huge and connect upto 10 metros per station going in several directions. When we finally got to our hotel, we were hungry but too tired and cold to go food-hunting so we watched some tv and went to sleep.

The next day was Easter Sunday and we bought a day pass for 7 euros which would gives us access to all public transport within the main zones of the city. We took a bus to the Eiffel tower and what a beauty it was! The place was full of tourists and vendors, taking pictures and selling Eiffel tower keyholders in every colour. The view from the bus station was magnificent but it got even better as we drew closer. There were live performers dancing and singing, coffee stalls and jewellery stalls all around the tower. As we drew closer we realized the tower was actually brown and not grey as I had thought. There was a really long queue to go up the tower so my friend and I postponed that trip although that would have given us an amazing view of the beautiful city!

We took some pictures and then headed towards the River Seine which is lined with beautiful historic buildings and bridges. Each bridge is different, some are white, others grey, gold and black. Some have statues and love locks, some dont. The river is bordered by floating restaurants and beautiful paths for people to walk on. It's really windy as you walk along the river so make sure you wear something warm and windproof.

There's alot to see along the river but we only ended at Le louvre because we got tired :) Le Louvre is a huge park full of beautiful gardens and historical statues. The glass pyramid is breathtaking and definitely worth seeing. Its free to enter the park so there were many people having picnics and throwing frisbees as couples and families. Its a romantic atmosphere and I could totally picture myself taking a nap on the bright green lawn.

We were only there for 2 days but I guarantee you, Paris is huge so you'll need at least 2 weeks to see most (not even all!) of it. Its definitely worth the visit so please let me know if you've visited and how your experience was
